Anyone still playing this game? I stopped playing in June 07 because I started going back to some older games I had on the backlog and completing them. After hearing Phil Harrison's endorsement of TDU as one of Atari's top franchises, I was pretty excited since I know Eden Games' David Nadal had announced development on a sequel a month before Phil came on board, but I feared it was canceled after the Alone in the Dark debacle. However, seems as though the game is still in development based on what Phil said.

So for the last few days I finally started playing TDU again. I finally completed Angel's Jump 18 months later. That was one of the hardest ass challenges in the game. There was just too much traffic. I don't even know how I did it as I crashed into like 10 cars. I guess what I did differently this time was if I had the choice to try to avoid a car in the right side and the left side of the road, I was choosing right side traffic so I could just ram into them and keep going.

I also decided to use the 360 controller this time. The MS steering wheel was cool, but after driving a real car for a while now its hard to use a wheel that has only 270 degrees in turning radius. I will likely get the G25 sometime soon so I can play it properly.

Honestly, if you haven't played this game yet and you like racing games, especially the old need for speed games like NFS: Porsche Unleashed you should do yourself a favour and pick it up. It should be dirt cheap these days. Its for PC and 360, and I have copies of both so if you want to play online you can drop me a line too.

Not next year according to the Atari Live 2009 presentation, but since development was announced by Eden to be in progress weeks before Phil Harrison arrived at Atari, and since Phil regards it as one of the top Atari franchises according to his Atari Live presentation (which means Atari is behind making a TDU 2), I would expect it in 2010.

Really looking forward to TDU2. I just pray it has a good sim mode in the game. Would like to see offroad racing too.

I was expecting TDU 2 this year or early next year. D don't understand why they took so long. 2010 is too late.

Why not just improve on TDU--extended it and fix it--rather than make a new version?

Yes, with patches this game is a good, decent product and with today's hardware should have very fast frame rates. There is even a car expansion pack that can be purchased.

If you're looking for a good single player game this is a very good game to own. If you want it for MP I'd look elsewhere.

Yah, I still jump on this game occasionally.

Oodles of fun and custom music makes driving around Oahu a dream

It's fun comparing my own personal drives around the island to the ingame footage of Waikiki and so forth
