Post Problems with X on Debian

Installed 9746 drivers on Debian 3.1 Sarge the installer built the modules at runtime as it cudnt find any.

first showed that Nvidia module cannot receive interrupts generated by GPU.

fixed it by starting kernel with noacpi option.

Now this:
cannot find device /dev/input/mice
error :no pointing devices found.

Is the installer not supposed to edit X config itself?...if i have to do it manually ...what do i edit?
