About 6 months ago I needed to build a server with the above board and after updating the BIOS to the latest, found that the machine would kernel panic on boot, unless the "noapic" parameter was added. Googling around, I found this was a common problem.
For various reasons I used another board instead, but I am wondering if anyone knows whether whatever was causing this problem has now been resolved in later kernels? Thanks. |

Hallo Rs27.
I have an m2npv-vm mother. I've bee trying months to get it to boot and no go. However, I have noticed that Andrew Morton has a fix in the mm kernel patches ready to merge, but it hasn't happened yet. I have tried his latest patch feb 7 and it still won't boot. I couldn't find a direct asus_m2npv-vm_apic patch in the list though. I will post here, when I manage to get it to run with a new kernel. Chris m. W. |

Boy am I glad I found this site.
I also have a M2N32-SLI machine. Was trying to set up a dua-boot with Ubuntu and the linux install disk locks up every time. Have re-burned the cds slow. Have tried various versions of Ubuntu. Nothing works. Does anyone know if or how this can be done on a M2N32-SLI board. Thanks for the information |
