i do an apt-get install linux-kernel-devel, then run the installer. once it compiles the module, i can load the module and run X just fine. once i reboot, i get an error (included in the bug report) and x doesnt load untill i change the module needed for x back to nv. if i re-run the installer, i get the module to work, but i dont want to do that upon each reboot. i think it has something to do with the module not being installed in the righ location, but i dont know where it should be and how to fix it.
thanks! |

In your bug report I see:
[ 319.415112] NVRM: RM/client version mismatch!! [ 319.415117] NVRM: aborting to avoid catastrophe! It looks like you didn't follow the instructions here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490 |
