So I FINALLY got around to playing the game for a good couple of hours.

Damn, it's TOUGH. As many have stated, you can't just go around trigger happy into the fights.

At first I was heavily dissapointed due to the freaking piss-ant pistols, but things have gotten mucho better now that I have some rifles (and mind you, they are nothing compared with the stuff you guys have).

I'm currently at the entrance to the tunnels, looking for some sort of stash. Is it worth it to go back and find the alleged military investigation back at agroprom RI?

As for graphics and whatnot... as you might guess from my sig, I'm running this on a LAPTOP! .
Surprinsingly it runs well, naturally with most stuff turned off. Medium to low quality and obviously no dynamic lighting @ 1440*900, but the game looks pretty good for my taste, and at 20+ frames. Shame I don't have 2gb of memory.. that would've surely helped. I'll post some screenies when I have a chance.

Oh well.. guess it's time to buy a new gaming rig for crysis

Could it be the 'advanced battle armor' mod i installed ? (i was having a little bit of trouble first time i played it through at the end, i later found out it's less difficult if you don't piss off EVERYBODY during the game )

@ Tuork
Don't go directly to the agroprom RI!
The tunnels you are talking about will end up in the institute anyway, hard fight, but you have to get the agroprom mission done in order to continue the storyline. (At least I believe there is no way to avoid it)

I cannot play this game at all, seems extremely buggy. Gothic III, Oblivion, Test Drive Unlimited, Need for Speed™ Carbon, Dark Messiah Might and Magic, you name it, all run great and without any problem for hours, but STALKER will cause a crash within 10 minutes, usually a complete BSOD, PROCES_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES / 0x00000076 error (first time I saw that on Vista x64; Not using any cracks to run it, have original DVD.).

Guess will return that back to shop..

That's what mine was doing until I applied that tweak. I know more educated folks are arguing it shouldn't work..point is..it did.

Funny though, Dark Messiah works for you? I can't even launch the game no matter what I've tried.

@grey_1: thank you However strange it seems (as app does not use more than 2GB), switching its exe to "supports more than 2GB" seems to help. Now back to the game :-)

I checked the map and apparently I JUST left Agroprom Research Institute, headed for some tunnels where I'm supposed to find Strelok's cache of goodies.

@game:
The military investigation I'm talking about is some papers I'm supposed to look for on the third floor of Agroprom. Is agroprom the place where you fight the soldiers for the first time??
