It's even cooler when you kill the fleshes while the dogs are, then the dogs turn around and try to attack you. That's when you start cappin em with your pistol lol.

And its even better when there is a wounded stalker he's calling for help, and I can give him a med kit. I wish they had more perks for doing this, but they did a good enough job with it that it always feels like the right thing to do. I think they should have had some sort of system where the local trader\bar\store would lower their prices a little bit for every friend you had in that area. Like you get a discount for having a good reputation for helping people out. Maybe they do do something like this, I haven't really noticed...

Official pain in the ass

So I finally got around to play it.
I installed it on my knew laptop (dell xps m1210, 1.83 C2D, 1GB, 64+256MB 7400go) Itīs obviously not running with all the bells and whistles, but itīs working pretty good for my standards. Question: What the hell are the quicksave/load keys? Going back and forth from the menu is annoying and slow. As for the game itself, pretty cool so far. Can't wait to get my hands on new weaponry. I haven't even finished the first assignment ![]()

From what I can tell its per-polygon. I can fire between a guys chin and his shoulder without hitting him. You just have to be dead on with your shots. If you're talking about MP, it shouldn't be any different there, but the game's net code isn't that great so high pings really kill it. One small gripe I have with the game is the way it handles semi-auto weapons with slow fire rates. If you click twice really fast but its too fast for the gun, it fires twice, but at its own pace. Its hard to explain... Where a normal gun in most games would be like this: click..click fire..fire and a slow firing gun would be like this: click..click....... fire............... STALKER's slow firing guns are like this: click..click fire..............fire Which can lead to wasted shots, or even hitting friendlies if you click a bit too fast for the gun. Its not a huge problem, but with shotguns and larger handguns it really makes them feel sloppy. The shotguns are already pretty sloppy without that though. The only one I've bothered using is the double barrel. The pump shotgun doesn't feel right because it doesn't have a pump sound to time your shots to... its basically a slow firing semi-auto. Other than that, the gun fighting is awesome. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Head shots are almost always one shot kills later in the game. I have a Vintar 9x39 sniper rifle and it takes just about anyone out with a single head shot, but the main reason is because of the accuracy and the high power scope. If you walk up to someone and nail them point blank in the face with the weakest gun in the game they usually die unless they are wearing decent armor. The better the gun, the farther away it can accomplish the same thing. And just so you know, despite the AK-74 being an assault rifle and firing rifle rounds, its horrible compared to most other rifles in the game. Expect things to get a whole lot more fun once you get your hands on your first 5.56x45 or 9x39 rifle. Even the Obokan with a scope is 100x better than the early weapons.

I need some help. I'm on the mission where I'm going into the X16 labs. At the beginning I was to protect this scientist. He was supposed to lead me somewhere...anyway, he got shot by some zombie.
Now I'm on my own and inside the lab. There is a huge cavern and there's a countdown. What do I do?

Is this where you're suppose to flip three switches and then 'unplug' (which is actually another switch) the machine?
