all the delays in its release should've given devs more than enough time to get a decent sized launch library ready.

And as another PS3 thread has pointed out strong PS2 sales will most likely mean strong PS3 sales in 2 years when the PS2 is no longer supported and the PS3 price drops.

And yes the 360 has a bigger catalog right now but that's b/c the console is a year ahead of the PS3. Release delays also delayed final Cell specs and Dev Kits, also from a financial standpoint I'm sure many PS3 titles were furloughed by the Devs to focus on immediately releaseable titles.

Oh to add, if the PS3 was released the same time as the 360, it wouldn't have had HDMI either, or not 1.3 like it has.

HDMI was when the 360 was designed, and is still now a pain in the ass standard that keeps on changing which makes it not really a standard that needs to die.

Now answer the following question honestly.... What home gaming console is delivering the BEST gaming experience TODAY. By best gaming experience I mean best gameplay, audio, visuals, multiplayer etc. IMO that's the Xbox360. Sure the PS3 has some legs and will get better as time passes but if I want to play great games NOW then the PS3 is lacking. Three good titles is not enough to justify me dropping $700-$800 on a gaming console. If by 2008 the PS3 has a more robust library I'll think about picking one up.

Hey I'm not even trying to argue that the PS3 has a bigger or better library at the moment. Gears of War is, in my opinion, the best next-gen title out right now. But when I buy a console as expensive as these next-gen's are I'm only buying one so, me, I'm in it for the long term. I foresee the PS3 having better exclusives than the 360 (MGS4, GOW3) as well as better graphics in its second and third generation games than the 360. Plus its not like the PS3 doesn't have good games, just not as many as the 360. I still like Armored Core 4, F1 Championship, Resistance, Tekken5, and Flow and to me five good titles is enough to enjoy myself for a long time while I wait for more to be released- plus I'll be able to get Gears on PC b/f too long

You know the exclusivity of many of the PS's franchises is up the the air, right? Including Metal Gear and Final Fantasy?

This generation will see so much cross-platform development that lines will be blurred between systems, aside from a select few AAA titles.

By the way nicorulez, didn't you say you were a physician? Yet you mentioned $600 as an entire month's salary? Should I start calling you Dr. Zoidberg?
