I am running SUSE 10.1 on an Intel Core Duo and a GeForce 7900.
I tried to install the latest nvidia GeForce driver and I used the YaST method as indicated on the nvidia download page. The process appeared to progress properly until I rebooted. At this point, the NVIDIA graphics driver module does not load, which makes the X server fail, which throws me in a text console mode. How do I recover from this snafu? |

i haven't used the, yast method....
see if you can get the generic "nv" driver to load, (edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf, change driver from "nvidia" to "nv") and if it does, then get the NVIDIA-Linux-*.*.run driver package and save to your hard drive, in console as root install the driver and pay special attention to what it says when trying to build the driver..... |

Thanks! |
