Default Which Headset???

Apparently, my Logitech headset has given up the ghost and I want to replace it. The problem is, that I have never used anything except cheap wired models. I have been looking at the Bluetooth models because of them being wireless (which I would like), but before paying the price, I would like to know if there is any kind of problems to expect? Even with the Bluetooth, I would want a reasonably priced unit...if possible, with full ear muffs? Any suggestions?

Default Re: Which Headset???

Since posting, I've been searching the internet for information to help me decide on a headset, but the more that I search, the more confused I get. It seems that once you get past the obvious features that you can see in a picture, the rest all appear about the same...except the price! I've found headsets from $20 to $2000, and of course, they all claim to be the best. If one must pay the the price at the high end of the scale, then I can't afford it...I really don't want to pay more than about $100. Obviously, I'm still looking for any advice or help.

The bottom line is sound quality...both to the ear and to the PC. I need this for musical notation software, so fidelity is important. Is Bluetooth better or worse in this aspect?

Strap on a pair!

edit: of headphones
Now please dont take this the wrong way, maybe your hearing is fine but, judging by your age I would think that paying for ultimate clarity would be pretty futile.

With bluetooth you pay the premium for the bluetoothyness of the product ,not the sound quality of the device so anything under $100 I would think will be the same quality as a much cheaper wired set.

random linkage

You could get a bluetooth dongle to plug in a decent set of sennheisers or something into. structure lazy of sentence apologies.

Thank you, but your advice is a bit late and somewhat unusable. I already bought a pair of Altec-Lansings, which seem to be fine, except that they are wired. Generally headsets come sealed in a bubble pack that makes it impossible to try them on, and even if I tried a pair on, my question was not about comfort, but performance and quality.

I'm still considering a pair of Bluetooths, but am concerned that they may not perform as well as the wired headsets. On other items, I have found that "leading edge" technology is sometimes dull and ragged.
