It's also hilarious how Nintendo doesn't even respond to these sorts of comments. All they have to do is point to the sales numbers. They do all the talking for themselves.

Yes Mr. Zelda, the Wii sells very well to retired Americans. The AARP advocates it as the replacement for "Sweating with the Oldies;" it is sweeping the geriatric population like wildfire for home fitness. Threadmill s and weights be da__ed; who needs it when you have the Wii. Heck, no need for next gen graphics. Most of the target population has macular degeneration and can't see two feet in front of their noses. The Wii is perfect. Richard Simmons is going to be their National spokesperson I hear.

Are you advocating the burning of elderly Americans?

The wii is a casual gamer's console. Once nintendo was the most hardcore b/c of their legacy and b/c their consoles didn't play anything but vid games, but even though they still have both, it's not for hardcore gamers.

Yes, everyone is playing it, including old people.

I'm just an ultra conservative gamer (not politics wise) who doesn't like nintendo's stupid ideas. Their last good innovative idea was the l and r buttons. They invented the control stick, but sony was the ones who actually didn't make it like a piece of **** 1st.

Sega may have been the first actually, depending on how you think about it. Being high and using a 3d analog pad are definately needed for maximum enjoyment of nights (which is sadly going to have its sequel on the wii.)

Congratulations, you are a minority! Bull**** talks and money walks, and the Wii is walking all the way to the bank. Sucks for you if you don't like it, but plenty of people do, more than who don't. Deal with it. No amount of hating on your part is going to stop other people from loving it and buying it.

Same thing goes for the 360 and the PS3.

The Wii is like model trains and boobies, meant for the young ones, but the men just can't resist.

But seriously, is anyone the least bit surprised that Microsoft would be trying to pigeonhole the Wii? And does anyone really believe that it's only 13-year olds playing the Wii? If you do I feel sorry for you.

It's just the usual marketing dance, nothing to see here.

They're simply playing on Nintendo's "for kids" stigma, most likely in response to an overwhelmingly successful advertising campaign as well as a clear lead in sales.
