That's an awesome case dude- you'll love it. Tons of room, plenty of fan options, great cooling options- all around it is a great case. Infact, I'll probably go with that case for my AM2+ build.

nice case, you will love all the room and fans and such, I think I will stick to this case for a very long time, just upgrade the internals

keep us posted on the build

Aw C'mon.....work who needs work when you have a new cpu to overclock. Cool ,it will be interesting to see how far this cpu will go.

I'm also very much interested about the overclock, mainly because I also have the "Coolit Freezone", but maybe DiscipleDOC should take it easy with the overclocked for few days to alow for some "Break-in Period."

Tikiman's rig did crash in couple days when he did try max overclock on it.
The Quad-core at max overclock might have been too much for the
Freezone to handle but not allowing for any break-in period probably did not help.

See what "Arctic Silver" is advising.

Quote:
3) Break-In Period
Due to the unique shape and sizes of the particles in Arctic Silver 5 conductive matrix, it will take a up to 200 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink or with a low speed fan on the heatsink.) On systems measuring actual internal core temperatures via the CPU's internal diode, the measured temperature will often drop 2C to 5C over this "break-in" period. This break-in will occur during the normal use of the computer as long as the computer is turned off from time to time and the interface is allowed to cool to room temperature. Once the break-in is complete, the computer can be left on if desired.

Tiki's rig broke because his Freezone pump quit. There was air caught in the middle of his tubing and the processor was idling ~100C.

I am a believer in break-in period, however. I never overclock a chip right away. I'll usually give it a couple of days.

Same here. Anyhow, do keep us posted Doc.

It might be a bit before I can start purchasing parts for my next build- so if you do get the CrossHair, let me know what you think of it.

Interesting,I never knew there was an actual "break-in-period" I usually just ran my cpus for 3 months stock, which is the same thing. I just thought the real hardcore overclockers went for it right away. Sucks about tikimans rig I've destroyed things by overclocking and experimenting the first thought is always "why did i do that". Well DOC like any good lady warm her up before you give the stick baby!
