I installed the Nvidia 1.0.9755 driver on a system with an NVidia Quadro FX 1500 card using an SGI F180 LCD display. When I try to startx I get a black screen with occasional flickering (synchronization problems?). If I use a different LCD, e.g. Samsung 931BF, I can start X. If I then switch screens,
I can see X on the SGI, but if I restart X or reboot using the SGI screen, X hangs again. I can use thsi SGI screen without any problems on another Linux machine which has an Nvidia GeForce 6600 card. I did startx -- -logverbose 6 and then ran nvidia-bug-report.sh via a remote shell (while the SGI acreen was black). I attach the log file. |
