I'd suggest most folks interested in quad core go Q6600 after the prices drop and OC it. I don't expect the QX6800s to have much head room and I could be wrong.

If you have a good C2D you may want to wait til Penryn and get a Quad core from that family.

are there any changes besides clock speeds from the QX6700?
like lower heat output?
or overclockability?

Wow. AMD's best, at 3GHz, is only comparable to Intel's mid-range chip (E6600) whish isn't even 3GHz.

Hoping AM2+ will change that.

If you check out his profile it says *Retired Poster*. I'm assuming he has given up gaming and everything. Last time he warned us, saying that he ran into financial problems and such. This time he just up and left. I sure hope everything is alright with him.
