I am going to wait until a hybrid blu-ray and hd-dvd drive comes out for PC's, and I'll just use that. Cheaper, guaranteed future compatibility, works flawlessly with my LCD HDTV, and future rendering filters to improve video quality will be available as well. Screw standalone players, HTPC's with LCD 1080p screens make them obsolete.

i think this about sums up my attitude toward the whole situation. once a a single unit arives that supports both formats, i will be all over that unit.

Well hopefully by the point a hybrid PC drive comes out the software players will have their sh!t together and will actually work as advertised.
