Look under PC awards. Seriously, i dont believe it... Bioshock wins game of the year for PC and BEST FPS for PC? It even beats crysis and cod4? It also had best use of sound award. Honestly, the game was good but i dont think it deserves GOTY and best FPS... I remember i saw yahoo games giving best FPS of 2007 to bioshock as well.

Maybe because tons of money were poured into IGN for advertising for Bioshock. It's been advertised on there for quite some time now.
I can't see any other explanation: (1) Phyics capped at a corrid 30fps (2) Character models ugly (3) Securom issues (4) Too much wondering around, not knowing where to go etc. Lost Planet, Call of Duty 4, Medal of Honor: Airborne, etc. were all better than Bioshock, ![]() ![]()

i didn't like anything about bioshock except the atmosphere. the story was meh, the characters were meh, except big daddy and the little sisters, that was done nicely. FPS wise, there was nothing there we didnt already see before.
I actually think this game could of worked better as an Oblivion type where some people are still normal and you have to talk to them to reveal the plot. Why are critics on this game's nuts so much? It's not THAT great

Yea yahoo games has Bioshock, Spike TV's 5th annual video game awards named Bioshock GOTY, PC Gamer named the Lord of The Rings game GOTY. Gamespot has Crysis about 4000 votes ahead of COD4. Gamespy has COD4 for PC and console as GOTY. Crysis pretty much nailed down the graphics stuff I seen on all the sights I checked, except one actually had COD4.
But yea from what I seen it's been Bioshock or COD4 getting named, and mostlty Bioshock for that matter. So is there and official GOTY? Do they tally up all the publication votes then name a GOTY? Or do these game companies just say "Oh that mag/site named us GOTY! Put a patched up version of the game out there with the GOTY slapped on it, hurry!" Kinda curious as to whether there's something official or not.

There were definitely worse games than Bioshock released this year.
I didn't think it was anything too spectacular but I'd rather have it win GOTY awards than the 47 sequels that get pumped out and slapped with 95% ratings.

Crysis? Why would that win anything? Game of the year, not graphics of the year.
I feel Bioshock deserves the GOTY Let's look at it, the story got a bit weak and twisted around at the end, but you were always motivated to keep going. 2kgames did more with that ue3.0 engine than epic did (look at ut3 for comparisons) Big Daddy was like the coolest bad guy to fight this year, his punches were insane, you actually felt like you getting a good sh*t kicking. |

I enjoyed Bioshock more than COD4... and Crysis I enjoyed a lot, but lets face it... most people can't play it even close to the way it was meant too. What about STALKER? Now that was GOTY for sure

![]() I personally felt that the game was seriously lacking in the "reasons to keep playing" department. The weapons got less and less interesting and effective as I went on because the enemies took more and more absurd amounts of damage toward the end. The plasmids didn't really do much most of the time. And the story felt very tacked on and wasn't even remotely connected to the gameplay. It seemed like a cool story, but I think I said this in another thread: They could have had those same voice recorders laying around in levels of Doom and it would have had the same effect.
