Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64 and Video/Sound Codecs...

I'm running Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64. With so many Video and sound codecs to choose from which is the best and which are the ones I should live without?

NVIDIA Pure Video DVD Codec? DivX Pro v6.5.1? XviD? Vista already has the built in Media Center for playing DVD'S. Are their any x64 codecs out for Video and sound? What would all of you suggest?

ffdshow is better decoder then any other decoder that you will buy

I really like the Pure Video decoder for watching dvds but last time I checked it didn't work quite right in Vista.

still don't see a point in installing a codec pack that includeds 20+ codecs, when i can install 1 for 32bit and 1 for 64bit, that plays everything

ffdshow CANNOT do everything. You need also AC3 filter, Haali Media Splitter, QuickTime, RealMedia, etc. The "Vista Codec" is a very clean package with no unneeded parts.
