Default Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 on Vista

I have Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 on Vista x64 and when ever system fully loads it takes about another 40 secs for kaspersky to load on system tray?

Other people with KIS 6.0 got same long loading times?

As far as I know all the Kaspersky releases for Vista are still in beta, so I would wait a few months.

Are you using the latest version? Please try v6.0.2.621.

"621" exhibits the same problems, whether with KIS 6 or KAV6 so it's probably one of the AV components causing it. I have to go into "Settings/Proactive Defense/Registry Guard.." and uncheck "enable Registry Guard" or my boot is not only slow but will fail at times, hanging Vista!
It's still noticeably slower at boot with the above but at least it does boot.

in vista they added a new option for services

if i remmember correctly its called "Automatic (delayed)"

look in services.msc if any KIS6.0 service is set to Automatic(delayed) instead of Automatic

Ok checked that and its on Automatic so it can't be that.

I'm running the latest build. Guess we have to wait for updates to fix this.

Registry Guard is disabled by default. on ym system it loads perfectly but after that it takes another <= 40 secs to load KIS 6.0. I have also found out that Bluetooth takes long to load along with KIS 6.0; they load the same time.

I've been using KIS 6.0.2.614 with no issues on Vista x86 so it must be a x64 issue. Write their customer support and let them know; they are really good over there and fast at getting back to people.

I think by default KAV is "on" for scanning critical systems at startup. I turned that and auto-updates off and now KAV has almost no impact on boot-up time.

It's an option when you install KAV. Otherwise what should be the same thing would be:

Open the KAV control panel and click on the big green checkmark for "settings" Under Critical Areas and Startup Objects, uncheck the bottom checkboxes.
