I don't go here for the babe thread or for the risqué pics but if that's what the people want then by all means.
Just as I don't come here to see hot chicks, I don't want to nor do I expect to- yet I have to anyway.

We have yet to hear Mike's ruling on this- so getting all bent out of shape really doesn't seem necessary.

Besides, would it really hurt your feelings if Mike decided that such avatars aren't necessary? Would you stop frequenting this forum just because of that? I'd hope not.

If it's really THAT big of a deal than turn off avatars. It's not all about what you want.

I swear, some of you people are the biggest ****ing babies around. I mean holy ****. If your ego's were any bigger I'd be afraid your head's were going to implode upon themselves.

Redeemed, your Avatar isn't that great either... yours has a bad word in it... hell mine has little kids playing with a womans breast...

Who cares, if your job doesn't allow such things then disable images in your browser then you can even enter all the threads without worrying if someone posted something NSFW. Hell, I just scroll quickly at work if I see something that I could get introuble for... which is usually only certain threads.

Seriously, were all adults here. You can control your own content, we shouldn't have to censor the entire forum.

I swear it's like people want this place to become a "police state" where you got the Gestapo breaking into your house if you post something that they don't agree with. Like you want everybody to be exactly the same.

LoL! You got that right.

I don't live far, and have worked in Maine quite a bit. Coverage FTW!

Obviously none of you have felt the mind-numbing pain of inadvertantly glancing at darthbeavis av.

Most definetly redefines "Too Far".

That said, I personally don't sit and focus on the avatars, and I doubt the forum rules would be changed...But I do agree with sillyeagle that some are over the top.

No I don't think so. It's not like his avatar actually shows the guys dick.

Just shows a fat dude laying down with no clothes but it doesn't actually show *anything*.

I could really care less if they're banned, but again, if you find it offensive or are concerned about your boss/wife/kids/pastor/aunt ginny seeing them, you have the option to disable avatars. You don't even have to disable ALL images in the forum; you can SPECIFICALLY disable avatars only.

What's the problem?

Really, if you want to see that sort of thing there is always porn or some club or party with a bunch of drunk chicks. I don't see how it is necessary to be on a computer hardware forum.

Just my opinion.
My avatar was pre-rendered on a 8800. So it is necessary, especially on a computer hardware forum.

So, it's about what you want? Dude, we're trying to have a mature conversation about something that is an issue, so you don't have to take to the level of calling people names. Stop getting so effing offended because we don't think like you.

The point that we are trying to make is that some of these avatars do go a bit far. I was asking people that have them to think about a little more than just themselves. People with little kids around do not want to be reading the forums and see TnA hanging out all over the place. Bring it out in this forum is a way for us to try to deal with it instead of getting the mods and/or MikeC involved. That's the mature way of handling it.

Do we always have to flame each other when we express our views?

Gamer how about we get past your flamebait on this topic and give us a good reason to 'not' restrict them? Honestly what effect will it have on the forums at all if they are removed? Will our view of one another change dramatically? I'm guessing not, but I don't think that your assault on other people's opinions are valid. I was debating with you, there is a big difference between what I said, and what you've been saying, you are flat out attacking people's ideals without presenting any kind of argument other then we are all a bunch of panzies. I've given my reasons for supporting the idea, and I guess you've given yours, so sit back and relax man and let's see what our fearless leader has to say.
