Default Rivatuner 2.0 Guide to Fan Speed/Control and Overclocking

I wasn't sure on where to place this, but I figured this would get the most results. I originally posted this in a response to another thread.

RivaTuner 2.0 Guide

Since, a lot of people have been asking about how to use RivaTuner, control fan speeds, overclock their cards. I've decided to write a tutorial to answer these questions. There was a tutorial that I originally learned from, but I have been unable to find it to host.

If you have any comments or suggestions let me know.
This tutorial is not copyrighted and may be distributed freely.

The tutorial is image heavy, as to help users understand by visualization.

Muchos gracias! I just used this to get RT set up with my new 8800GTS since the stupid nVidia control panel can't seem to behave.

A question, please: on the "Customise" box, why would I not have the hardware-configuration button (the one that looks like a graphics-card) where fan-speed is controlled? Nor do I have the hardware-monitoring button either. Instead of the expected 6 buttons next to Customise, I only have 4. I was previously using RivaTuner 2.0 with my 6800GT and ForceWare 84.21 perfectly.

My hardware:
- 1x brandnew XFX 8800GT 640MHz
- Asus NF4 motherboard
- AMD X2 4400+
- 2x1Gb DDR400
- X-Fi XtremeMusic
- Antec SP2-450W

Edit: Sorry, I downloaded RivaTuner 2.06 and the buttons are now available.

To match the launch of RivaTuner v2.07. I've released a new tutorial.

This tutorial includes the new features of RivaTuner, including: Configuring RivaTuner, Creating Fan Profiles, Creating Launcher Items, Creating Scheduler Tasks, Additional Scheduler Tasks, Using Hardware Monitoring Tool, Setting up the G15 Display, Advanced Automatic Fan Control, Creating Overclocking Profiles, and Adding Plugins.

The fan profile section uses the driver-level method to support SLI and has been tested. Also, it includes the advanced AutomaticFanSpeedControl method.

The Configuring RivaTuner section has not yet been completed, but all the other sections are for the most part done. The tutorial was written by me and can be distributed freely. I just ask that you mention my name.

Check it out Here
