QUick run-down:
Needed to install MySQL in order to develop a DB for a proyect I have. After messing with it for hours I finally got it to work. As I did, internet access from my computer DIED. I believe it was a problem with the DNS (that's what the MSN troubleshoot told me ).Uninstalled and kept having the same problem. Moreso, Panda antivirus (Platinum 7.05) refused to load on startup, as it used to do before installing MySQL. I gave up and turned over to a Restore Point which was just yesterday. Problem fixed. Any idea what it is about MySQL that caused this? Specially the issue with Panda... :s I'll try to reinstall to see if the same issue comes up again. Suggestions are more than welcome...as well as any tips regarding PHP/MySQL! ![]()

I pinged google and it said it was not found.
I am currently under a router which provides access to my computer and my parents'. (Again, parents' computer worked fine while mine didn't)

check you wiring first. plug the pc into a diffrent port on the router.... check to see that the leds on the router light up when pluged in. if you using dhcp make sure you have an address.. ive heard of odbc drivers borking the tcp/ip stack. try to give yourself a static address.

on the back of you pc look for the port that the netowrk cable plugs into, see if the l.e.d's light up when the cable is plugged in. if not try and plug the network cable into another port on the router. if that still doesnt work try another cable. if that still doesnt work your nic might have gone bad... now if you ruled out your physical connection then goto a command prompt ... by going to start---> goto run--->> in the run open dialog box type --->>cmd... a command prompt window will open up. in the command prompt window type ipconfig/all ... after you do this can you post what is on the screen so that we can take a look at it. from here it can get wierd.

do you know how to add a static address? give it a static address of 192.168.123.109 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, also make your dns server 192.168.123.254 on your local machine. give that a try
