Hi there,
Recently I upgraded from an AMD Sempron 1.8GHz + 6600GT PCIeX to a Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz + 8800GTS 320MB . Everything is working fine but I don't seem to get a big performance increase after installing the 8800GTS card, and by big I mean that I expected to be able to play World Of Warcraft under Linux with wine with full 3D accel options at 1440x900 resolution and no FSAA at 30fps at least but instead I have to lower a couple of settings. My understanding is that the 8x00 line is currently not fully used by the drivers in both windows and linux, is this correct and how much performance improvement is expected in the near (next drivers release) future? Cheers. |
