To help nvidia's case I can tell that native Linux 3D games run very good with my 8800GTS, so I'm happy with my videocard upgrade.

Anyway, I admit this slowness is annoying. Hope to see a good driver soon too.

Hello Linoleum,

My experience with 100.14.03 beta driver is that is is does not fix the problem of slow window resizing under beryl/compiz.

Nvidia direct rendering operation is improved because under 9755 with 8800 GTS 320 black window bug was really severe (memory was never freed, all windows become black after several open/close)

Have to say that this beta driver prove much more 2D-wise on my 64bit system, than the stable 9755 does. And also this shows in Beryl's performance. I can use it quite good without bigger slowness. I didnt benchmark it, but with 9755 scrolling in mozilla firefox with a bigger image was quite slow. Now it's better.

And even with Cedega, games run fine with a bit of a fix.
