Default Clarification needed on paravirt_ops issue

Hi,

Is it possible to resolve the error:
FATAL: modpost: GPL-incompatible module nvidia.ko uses GPL-only symbol ‘paravirt_ops’
on an install without the kernel source?

I was under that impression!

This:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=87541
gives instructions...

However... the 'make module' step *always* produces the paravirt_ops error.

Does one need the kernel source or not?

Thanks!
