And there was I thinking that money wasnt an object for a Tiki rig.
Crysis will use every available resource, it will thank you for keeping hold of 4gb. What I just said had better be true otherwise some germans are getting a kick in the nuts. Overclocking ram for its own sake is pretty fruitless, Maybe sell your flash name brand and get 3gb of the cheapest good timings stuff if you need the money. Some people on ebay pay retail prices for second hand !!!??? If anything ,just offload one stick.

Using Vista x64, I love 4GB of RAM. I can have Outlook, Live Messenger, Word, text editor, Apache and MySQL server running, and launch Oblivion or whatever for 20-30 minutes, without closing anything, and work after that. 4GB gives you "freedom" and SuperFetch gives you speed (preload of common apps to RAM).
Of course, 4GB does not have sense with 32-bit OS, as only 3-3.5GB is available.

Decisions....decisions. Seriously guys I don't need the money. It's really not the issue. I just don't want RAM that costs over $400 sitting and doing nothing. It makes me think of the Wii I could be playing instead of RAM sitting. Or PC games I could be playing that I have not purchased yet.

Has Crytek or Epic released any info that points to the fact that 4GB is necessary to run their upcoming games on full detail. I see some of the Crysis pictures and think.....geez thats going to need tons of RAM and a screaming CPU.
I don't know I just have a hard time seeing all enthusiasts and gamers going 64-bit. But to play games that keep getting more demanding one has to wonder. |

As far as ive read they just say it will use what ya got,
By the way ,the cheapest price in the uk for twin 1gb dominators is £276.13 Thats $276 each!(1gb) , at least it was the last time I looked. Id ebay them and allow shipping to the uk ,but then I am an ebay freak.

The more memory the better, especially right after a new OS is released.

I suppose I could always just keep the memory and the 64-bit version of Vista and Dual Boot to XP. I don't have a copy of XP 64-BIt so that won't do any good. XP 32-bit will be fine when I'm playing games that wont install in 64-bit OS. Like Sam and Max and....fetch Fear Combat hates 64-Bit Vista.

I say keep the RAM. Dual boot Vista x64 and XP 32bit. That's what I plan on doing with my new rig I'm building.

Return it asap. Put the $400 in the bank. Then next time you might not need to sell your computer.
