I recently thought that my Pentium 4 needed retirement.
Having recently lapped it and cooled with Zalman 9700 Aero I was getting 4.8Ghz out if it at 1.45v. However it was running @ 62o under Orthos. To high ![]() So yesterday I purchased Datawrite DVD-RW 2x Branded Overprint (10 Tub) 1 £1.99 (£2.34) Datasafe DVD-RW 2x Branded (10 Tub) 1 £1.99 (£2.34) Belkin 4-Socket SurgeMaster (F9H400UK2M) 1 £5.99 (£7.04) LaCie Carte Orange 4GB USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive 2 £33.98 (£39.93) Samsung SH-183LBEBN 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer Serial ATA Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM 2 £35.98 (£42.28) Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - Retail 1 £107.99 (£126.89) OcUK Value DVD Case Black (100 Box) 1 £5.99 (£7.04) OcUK Value CD-Wallets (Pack of 100) 1 £0.99 (£1.16) Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA663) 1 £69.99 (£82.24) For a grand total of :£337.10 (English currency, worth twice as much as $ ![]() Anyway, im hoping that this will allow me with my current evga 680i and GTX to break 10k when overclocked like hell. My old rig (pentium 4 with 2gb 533mhz, 8800gtx) only gave me a score of 7000. Looking forward to it ![]() |

If you OC the processor to about 2.6Ghz with an 8800 GTX on stock, you will definately break 10k on 3dmark06. you don't need to overclock your 8800 GTX to get that score. It's powerful enough already. the P4 was limiting you severly.
