I recently thought that my Pentium 4 needed retirement.

Having recently lapped it and cooled with Zalman 9700 Aero I was getting 4.8Ghz out if it at 1.45v.

However it was running @ 62o under Orthos. To high

So yesterday I purchased

Anyway, im hoping that this will allow me with my current evga 680i and GTX to break 10k when overclocked like hell.

My old rig (pentium 4 with 2gb 533mhz, 8800gtx) only gave me a score of 7000.

Dude, I break 10k all day.

If you OC the processor to about 2.6Ghz with an 8800 GTX on stock, you will definately break 10k on 3dmark06. you don't need to overclock your 8800 GTX to get that score. It's powerful enough already. the P4 was limiting you severly.

The patch is due out in May. It is hit or miss right now with stuttering issues. I get a little hitching here and there, but it is much better under XP for me than in Vista.
