Default Driver development roadmap

Hello!

I recently upgraded my graphics adapter to GeForce 8500 GT, and noticed that linux drivers aren't ready for my card yet, and i can't get the beta drivers working. I tried installing the beta driver many times, but for a regular user like me, there was no luck, so i'm waiting for the official one to come out now.

So, does Nvidia publish any kind of driver roadmap where i could see when the next driver will be released? Or if not, do you have any idea whether it's a matter of weeks or months(!)?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

PS. If i missed something crucial and the drivers for my card are available (i'm using Kubuntu), or if someone has made a script, i would appreciate if you told me

Hello!

Yes, i read the sticky posts, but i understood that the newest legacy driver (1.0-7185) doesn't support my card yet, only the beta driver does. So my main question was that is there any way to know when the new legacy driver supporting my card will be released?

Thank you for your fast reply.

Legacy driver branches are not intended to support newer hardware. If you're having problems using a driver, you should follow the instructions in the sticky posts.
