I'd suggest verifying that your RAM isn't faulty.

If you have the time & spare disk, it might not be a bad idea to see whether this problem triggers with FC6-x86, or a kernel.org kernel.

Beyond that, I don't have any other suggestions since this doesn't reproduce here with seemingly identical hardware & software.

And for testing RAM, I recommend using memtest86 (it is already on many boot images from Linux distributions, but you can also make your own very easily). It already helped me with faulty RAM ...
