Sucks that the best of both worlds can't be had.

AMD's new platform will feature 4pci-e slots.

For a HSF that size you'd have to remove the plastic mounting bracket in order for it to fit. Not change the bracket, completely [/b]remove[/b] it. And, to clarify, I'm not referring to the backplate either, as most enthusiast boards use a metal backplate to support the wieght of beefy aftermarket coolers. If you have that cooler on your mobo with the plastic mounting bracket still on the mobo- please provide a photo as proof cause I honestly don't see how it is physically possible.

I have the same motherboard as radekhulan shown in his picture, although this picture isn't too good, it shows that I haven't removed the default retention bracket, nor does the guide tell you to do so if you have an AMD processor. Maybe you should contact Zalman and ask them?

PS: I'll do a scan of the guide (if I can find it) when I get home from work if you still have any doubts.

Sooo... does that Zalman actually utilize the bracket to keep the HS properly mounted on the proc then?

A small retention clip just goes ontop of the heatsink, then you just clip it onto your current retention bracket.
