You know Intel is doing good when the worst someone can say is "it runs hot."

So should I get a 2.4GHz Quad on 1033FSB or 3.0GHz Dual on 1333FSB? Same price.

Also can you use same MBD for both FSB speeds? 680i?

With the added bus speed and overclocking potential, I wonder if the dual core one will end of performing better?

Get the quad and OC the FSB to 1333.

Though to be fair, back then it was only a approximate timeframe of "Q3 2007" now we have much more accurate timeframe of July 22nd. This is fairly early Q3, quite nice.

There are plenty of products for everyone. You have the E2140 74US E2160 84US, E4400 $113, E4500 $133, E6550 $163, E6750 $183, E6850/Q6600 $266, Q6700 $530.

Core micro-architecture for $74 in Dual Core form, nice.

Intel has learned from their mistakes. It listens to customers now and has been gaining more and more customers. AMD really has some troubles now. It abandoned us (loyal 939 users) and tried to force us to upgrade to AM2 board. My FX-55 was died and I had no choice but jumped to Intel camp. I love my current E6600 built. Radekhulan , AMD really shall listen to you since you represent those angry ex-AMD users. I paid big $$ for the FX-55 and it died for only 1.8 years of use. I never had issues with my good old HP Pavilion pIII 400MHz. (It can still run today with win 98). a12ctic: you are very pathetic AMD fan boy If you really want to do something good for AMD, please recognize Intel's recent achievement. ... if you keep denying Intel 100%, no one will take your post seriously. You really hurt AMD image instead of helping it. We need AMD and we need people to buy AMD. But if we see the kind of posts by fanboy like you, you really turn us away from AMD!! Please, please help AMD instead of hurting it further....

Just my humble opinion..when/if I'm able to upgrade I'm staying far away from 680i. I've read way, way to many horror stories across multiple forums. 650 for me, I want stability more than a touch more speed.

With quads though its even more of a gamble on how high you will get it to go because now you are as slow as your slowest core out of 4 instead of 2.

Personally... Id get a faster Duel Core and then OC that even more. As cool as quads are on paper and as much of a steal that is I think most will agree that as far as current and upcoming games go, a faster duel core will probably out perform a quad core in most cases unless you get lucky and get a quad that OC's better than a selected duel. I can't even think of anything that will use Quad off the top of my head. If someone can name some things please do. I am debating a CPU upgrade as well... not because I feel limited yet in anything I am doing but because I simply have the ability to upgrade thanks to this kick ass mobo
