Default Windows Defender vs Ad Aware Pro - AdWatch

Hi folks,

Just wondering.... what would you say would be the better option, and would have less slowdown impact on web browsing or windows generally between Windows Defender and Lavasoft Ad Aware (Adwatch) 1.06 Professional.

Running Windows Vista, and found myself disabling Defender to ease disk usage, but would Ad Watch itself have more of an impact ?

Ad-Aware without a doubt bro.

It's fast, updates are very regular and it uses next to no resources next to defender.

Run in conjunction with spybot search and destroy - kick ass combo.

Ad Aware, it doesn't run in the background eating up your resources... I disabled Defender right away...

Cheers for the heads up.

Adios to Windows Defender.

To be honest, I don't think Defender ever picked anything up, and Ad Aware always seems to find something. Noticed it picks up those stupid marketing pop up cookies.

I just download the lastest free version myself. Along with spybot and clean surfing habits I don't have any trouble.

Seriously, when was the last time you've ever found any sort of malware with those programs?

Using 1.06 , seems to run fine without a problem in Vista.

I did try the beta but wasn't impressed, too many glitches.

Using them on the girls pc before I locked myspace out ---alot. Now, usually just the odd trojan and tracking cookies.

On my rig, usually just shows up with the mru list.

WD sucks. Ad-Aware and Spybot are pretty damn good. I've been using Hitman Pro since about a month ago.
