My apologies, I was mistaken when I stated that the 7050PV was supported in a released driver. A future driver release will include support for this GPU.

Thanks for the information. Is there some rough timeline as to when support for the 7050PV will be added?

I cannot commit to any specific timeline, however it will likely be later this Summer.

Here's the word from Biostar support on this issue:
Sorry, Currently we do not officially support Linux because we do not do any testing under Linux. However, if Nvidia has the Linux drivers for that chipset, should be no problems.

At this moment, we are the first to Launch 7050 chipset, itís possible Nvidia has not yet released full working Linux driver for this chipset yet as it is still in the.

Thank You

Unhappy Re: 7050PV support?

IMO, since Linux is not yet supported, it's better to wait for the Abit mobo (AN-M2HD) soon to be released, rather than buy the BIOSTAR TF7050-M2 today. Abit's comes with Firewire, which is nice to have if you're putting together a Media Center PC of some kind. Last thing you want is waste one of only two PCI slots on a IEEE 1394 card

My $0.05...

I'm confused. The 100.14.11 driver says it supports the 7050. Does it support it or not?

I have tried these drivers with the Biostar TF7050-M2 motherboard. I get "no screens found" when I try to start X. I have attached my relevant files

This looks like a completely different problem, as the nvidia kernel module failed to load. What is the output from running "modprobe nvidia" as root (or sudo)?
