Does somebody knows how can I enable the Quadro SDI option's output throght the x config? All I want is, to be able to automatically choose when SDI out will be on/off and all of its options.

nvidia-settings will allow you to configure SDI output options.

Thanks. Is there any way to automatically execute nvidia-settings through my x config?

No, that is not possible. However you could have it run automatically via other means. See the driver README and the nvidia-settings man page for more info.

Hi again,

Maybe I was not so clear. All I need, is to be able to automatically enable the SDI out and its mode, from within /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Do you have any idea?

Thanks,

As I stated earlier, that isn't possible.

Do you know if there is any plan for support this fauture in a next release of linux drivers?

Lets think that somebody wants to enable its SDI output by default during the first os boot (or reboot)... As far as I understund, now this is impossible. I really dont think that this is a special or an advanced feature, because for smaller cards (not quadro) it is possible by enabling the TV out in xorg.conf.

So, when somebody paid more than $5000 for a FX5500SDI board, he defenetely need some real-simple options....

Please advise...

Its not clear to me specifically what you wish to enable by default. Until you do so, I cannot comment on what may or maynot change in future releases.

All I need is when I change my resolution, to automatically enable SDI output on a specific format. For example:

When I change my resolution to 1920x1200@60Hz, automatically SDI output will be "on" and at 1920x1200x60i_psf_4:2:2 format.

...When I change my resolution to 1920x1200@50Hz, automatically SDI output will be "on" and at 1920x1200x50p_genlocked_4:4:4 format

...and when I change my resolution at 1280x1024@85Hz, automatically SDI will be "on" and at 720x576x50i_psf_4:2:2 with start window at h:100 v:110 (instead of h:0 v:0 that is the normal)

...and finally if I chane my resolution at 1600x1200 at any refresh, my SDI output will be "off".

I think now you completely understand what I really need. I think, that all SDI formats (for each resolution choise) can be declared in the xorg.conf (as the montor's resolutions are).

With other words, I dont want to choose by myself SDI's format. This must be pre-defined somewhere (in /etc/X11/xorg.conf or whereever). The user, could ONLY choose resolution and refresh rates.

That all I need Please advise if you understand and if this could be available in a future release of linux drivers. Its extremely important for me.

You can certainly request specific modes on specific display devices via xorg.conf, however that is not unique to the nvidia driver. Without seeing an nvidia-bug-report.log, I can't speculate on why this wouldn't work for you.

For anything that is SDI specific, you could certainly use the nvidia-settings command line options as are documented in the nvidia-settings man page.

I have searched alot and I read the man of nvidia-settings but I didnt find anything for SDI output. Can you give me an example-syntax for enabling my SDI at a specific mode?

Thanks
