Default SLED 10 No 3D Effects

Hi,
Intalled SLED 10 on HP Pavillion with AMD64 5600+ Dual Core and GeForce 78500LE.
Tried using nVidia/Novell YUM repository to load drivers. Killed X altogether. So I downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-9755-pkg2.run and loaded it that way. X11 now works again, but no 3D acceleration is operable. The "3D Effects" tab says: "nVidia Corpporation Unknown device 01dd (rev ...)".
I go into SaX2 and it finds the proper card, and shows the panels in test mode with the red "3D' in the middle. I saved it, restarted X and the 3D Effects page never changes. I can run nvidia-settings just fine, shows the right card and all looks to be normal.

Here's the debug file. Thanks for the help.
