Default GeForce 8600 GTS with Yast

I am running OpenSUSE 10.2 with a GeForce 8600 GTS and I have the latest beta drivers installed. The drivers appear to be working fine except Yast doesn't seem to recognize the card. It is identified as VESA Framebuffer Graphics. This is only a minor pain at the moment but in the near future I want to run with dual monitors so I need Yast to recognize the card correctly. The desktop also seems sluggish, for example if a maximize a window then any music or dvd playing will skip or windows jump around the desktop, I dont know if this is a separate issue, it was mentioned in another thread, its been a long time since performance was affected by moving a window.
