I'm anti-Sony. But there are too many releases (Rescue Me season 3, LOST season 3, LotR:EE [if the rumors are to be believed]) that I can't hold back anymore.
But I'll be damned if I'm going to buy one of the existing gimped POS BD players on the market now. I'm going to wait until BD-J is "finalized" in October so I'll at least know for the next few months, new releases will work on whatever combo player I buy until BD-J is finalized again. |

Why not just get a PS3? It is the cheapest blu-ray player, and with firmware upgrades you don't have to worry about anything.

It only supports 480i/p and 1080i/p. 1080i is a significant downgrade from 720p imo and I would not like to use that as my player. If it wasn't for this issue with the PS3, I would have already bought one.
