Haven't tried the 165.01, but nekro showed that going from the 158.42 to the 158.45 doubled his fps in the game in DX10 mode. The new drivers were made specifically to fix an issue with the game in DX10 mode, and it is suggested on relic's forum to use these drivers. So I'm guessing this driver is probably going to be the best pick for the time being.

"DX9 games don't appear to appreciate DX10 patches at all at this stage of gpu driver development" - direct quote from a relative that works for AMD.

Hopefully, games that are fully designed for DX10 will work a bit better.

I just lowered the texture detail from ultra to high and took AA off completely and there was no change in my fps. Id probably ignore my benchmarks at this point as there must be something wrong on my end.

Indeed I just tested the new 158.45 against the 165.01 and performance is definitely better with the 158's released today. Sorry for any confusion.

Well I'm getting 24fps on the performance test with 8800GTS/x2 4200 using 158.45

The game run fines. I think it looks better. I think the lighting and shadows are better. But it's such a slight improvement that you're not sure that anything changed at all.

Man this 8800 low performance in DX10 is bad news. This is game 2 now (well the other is an unoptimized demo but still)

SLI Performance= NoSLI performance
NoAA performance = 16xAA performance

I got 32fps average with 1768x992 all maxed.
DX10 SLi performance (if SLi is working at all) is more like with the early 6800 SLi drivers.

If X2900 really does have more decent DX10 performance in these games, I will seriously consider switching. Plus it actually has working AVIVO Saturation control, unlike.... well you know
