I really don't see much of a difference in standard view.

For example, I run the fear benchmark and it runs great. I try it again later and the scores are way off. And I can't get SLI to work in Lost Planet etc. At this point, I wouldn't rely on my scores because everything is all over the place with my system. |

I'm playing through the campaign (never finished it on my Athlon XP/6800GT setup) on DX9. With all the problems I've experienced with Vista and the performance nosedive associated with this DX10 patch I'm quite happy where I am.

For all results, I gave the best of three runs. The first was always thrown out (always the lowest results, by a long shot), usually the third run was best. When I got to the last test - DX10 @ 2048x1536 - the first run returned very poor results as expected....but it was the only successful run. The second run failed with an error from Vista saying I had run out of system memory (although task manager was showing only about 1.3GB being utilized for the previous few minutes)...I'm wondering if I had filled the GTX's frame buffer? I remember reading about how Vista has control over both system & graphics memory with DX10. Anybody with another high resolution display and a single GTX want to give it a shot? The third run resulted in total system lockdown. When I hit instability, I stop. Therefore, the graph was not completely...complete ![]()

It seem you will need 3 to 4GB RAM to run CoH at very high resolutions under DX10 mode.
Here some good FAQ from Relic forums: Quote:

Hmm it requires 3GB-4GB RAM for DX10 mode with not that much of a visual difference, and runs less smooth? (Correct me if I am wrong)
The game requires 512MB RAM (minimum system requirements) for DX9 mode, and it runs smoother? |
