Default Cg SDK

Recently I was looking around at Compiz plugins and stumbled upon one that needs some code compiled with Cg. I was wondering whether there's a Cg SDK planned for FreeBSD and if not, would using the Linux Cg work? I have no clue what sort of binary comes out on the other end. Is it platform independent only for the graphics card, or would the output of cgc need to be generated by a native compiler to run natively?
