I played the demo and thought it seemed kinda bland. Not just the graphics but the gameplay to but then maybe that's how Tomb Raider is meant to be.

I bought it through Steam and have briefly played it so far. I like it a lot as I liked Legend. Not having the next generation mode doesn't bother me at all. I personally didn't like the look of it in Legend much (didn't like the way it made the characters look) so didn't use it. Legend (and Anniversary) looks fine without it. If anyone didn't like Legend, most likely they won't like this one either as the games are very similar. Legend was (and still is) a very enjoyable game to play for me and so is this one (so far).

I'm playing it exclusively with an XBox 360 wireless controller under Vista at 4xAA 1920x1200 all settings maxed and its very smooth. The 360 controller works perfectly on this game. I recall the original game and while this is a remake, its also very different at the same time. The puzzles in this one are also much more difficult than in Legend which is not a bad thing.

Overall a good effort by EIDOS. I'd love to see them redo more older titles. This one is well worth the $29.99 from Gamestop.

Thanks for the info. I hope to pick this up at BB this weekend and plan on using the x360 controller with it as well. At least start out that way and see how it goes anyway.

Maybe they will make next-gen content with a patch if it isn't already in the game. Maybe it's there but inactive. Who knows...

I just find it really funny how Lara does that little stretch and bounce crap in the menu. Completely unnecessary boob jiggling, but pretty funny.

She actually does all those same moves when just standing in the game also (if you let her stand long enough to go through all the moves).

Exclamation Re: Tomb Raider: Anniversary - Feedback Thread

There're some speculations about a 360 version with 'next gen'.

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=97336

The game is absolutely amazing & the gameplay is better than in Legend.

But, how can't you care about the gfx quality in TRA after Legend ?

If the game developers think that we're happy without it, then, forget about 'next gen' for PC on TR8. Less work for them & more money.

Also, what will you think if the TRA version of the 360 features 'next gen' mode ?

The engine as it stands has some minor issues with shadows and water reflections, and if we judge it by Legends next gen, that mode only made those shadow issues more apparent.

I really don't care if there is a next-gen upgrade, this is such a MASSIVE boost over the original release that I find it to be "good enuff" for now. Give me TR8 with the same kind of quality they delivered on Legend, let's consider TRA done.
