I'm about halfway through and I am finding the frustration level to be getting higher than the fun factor for me. I guess for some, a good game means challenge, challenge, challenge with the "pull your hair out" element of difficulty. I'm not one of those people. I like a game that has "atmosphere", "fun factor" and not having a frustration level to the point of playing a section umpteen times just to get through it (when it was something that the game controls made it a lot harder than it should have been to actually do). And these timed modes! I'm too old for this!!!. A "save anywhere" function would really be nice here but there's not one.

If I do end up finishing this game, dunno if I will play it again. I'm more of a low key player that likes to take his time, have fun, and not having to feel like breaking my monitor while I'm playing a game because of frustration. I'm more of a "Legend" kind of guy.

*#!% - the checkpoint system blows. I got through most of a frustrating part only to get stuck near the beginning again. I am getting to the point where its not much fun anymore. Guess I will go play something else.

Ha, welcome to the original Tomb Raider. Back in those days, it was all about checkpoints. There was no save anywhere system like on many games today.

Ha! wimp. Cant handle the old school gaming?

BTW, if you stop playing this game because you simply think its too hard you will never know the true master piece that you are missing out on.

A lot of you guys must have been really young when Tombraider 1 was a big hit back on the PS1. The first time I beat that game was on that system.

Tombraider Legends has you guys spoiled, that game is far far to easy.

Nevermind. Works fine now, 99fps in 1920*1080/8xAA max-everything.
Seems dual monitors had messed up my drivers.
Also, adding TRA.EXE to the nvidia profile was required. By default only TRAE.EXE was listed.

-unedited post below-
For some reason the game is completely unplayable for me.

Im sure im reaching the bottom requirements, still the sound begins to lag in the intro (every 2 seconds it gets silent, like in extreme lag). Then when Lara and the Menu pops up, the sound continues to lag and I can barely move the menu up and down.

Other games like Two Worlds works fine in the highest resolution.

WTF are you talking about bottom requirements? is this a joke?! LMAO You dont need SLI'D 8800GTX's in order to run a game developed on the PS2.

I also have SLI'D 8800GTX's and I run this game with 16QXAA, 16XAF and all maxed settings at 1680X1050 and my FPS is 175-300FPS.

Bro you dont have something or the other set up correctly. Plain and simple.

Just picked up this game the other night... have yet to get into it much because I have not had time, but I was able to put all the settings on high with 16QxAA and 16xAF as well and the game ran smooth as butter. Looked pretty damn good too for not having the "Next Generation" content. It looks to me like they took parts of the next gen and integrated them into the game without the option.

To be honest with you I like it better the way it is now. The game looks very natural and imo next gen has no place for this remake. It would pretty this game up too much and it shouldnt look that way, it would just look wrong to me with next gen settings.

I will get back to it - I just got frustrated. I played the first three Tomb Raiders before the franchise got a little long in the tooth.

*Edit* Well I got past that frustrating part and I am sure there is another one a little further ahead.
