I dont know if you guys in the US were aware but Amex was running a Mywishlist promo and yesterday they were selling the 46" Sharp Aquos for $840. I managed to snag one but I am kinda sceptical after reading some of the comments on AVS. Anybody got this TV and care to speak from personal experience. Its mainly going to be used for console gaming and bluray movies. Does the 1080p really help. I have a 32" viewsonic that does 1080i. Will I notice a big difference?

I had that exact model, even posted a review of it on AVS. The biggest issue I had with it was that it had too much of a red push. It works well as a PC monitor, but stuff like red text looks somewhat blurry.
It is definitely worth having for $845, but it wasn't worth the $2,200 price I paid for it. I returned mine and got the 47" westy instead. The westy has worse black levels but better color accuracy IMO, and it was about $700 cheaper. BTW, how do you get it for that price? I know somebody who would want one.

Wow... that's great that you got the 46" Sharp. I was also trying but I was one of the many unlucky ones. Even with the small issues getting a 46" 1080P LCD for under $900 is AMAZING! Congrats and enjoy! (If you want to sell it I'll throw another $200 on top of what you paid!)
![]() AlphaWolf he got it at that price as part of a promotional offer by AMEX. I doubt there is any other way to get that LCD TV for that price anywhere else and AFAIK it is no longer available.
