just for fun i turned the res. down to 1280x960, and the AA and 16.
uhm.. wow.. completely playable, frame rates are even better than at 1680x150 with 4xAA.. also, noticed something weird.. i had stutters at first, and it also ran in windowed mode but gameplay was smooth.. i played around with the settings in the video options, and changed for example; shadows from high, to medium and then back to high. clicking apply resized the window to full screen and gave me a huuuge fps boost. in fact it's looking the way it should be ! |

I spent the last few hours fiddling with this game. DX9 mode runs flawlessly in SLI and at a decent framerate for me in Vista. DX10 mode gives me some problems however. First, the SLI bars do not show up when I run it. For some reason the game does not seem to register full screen mode correctly because if I go into the video settings and change the game from full screen off and then back to on the SLI bars show up. Once I load a level I can tell the performance gain from SLI but as soon as I get to a checkpoint area where the game loads the next section, it hangs about 3/4 of the way through and the game stops responding. I have to disable SLI in the control panel to get the game to run without any lockups or other issues but I obviously notice a performance hit this way. I hope Nvidia releases some newer drivers to address SLI in this game as I do no have issues with anything else, including the DX10 Lost Planet demo so that makes me think its a driver issue. I am using the 158.45 driver by the way.

Im looking to get this as soon as Nvidia fixes SLI in Dx10 (anytime Nvidia). I never played the EU version so Im looking forward to playing a western game.
I tried modifying the drivers myself by adding this line of code /8800 Dx10 SLI = ON but that didn't seem to work. I'll keep trying. |

Mine was choppy at 1600x1200 with everything maxed, but I backed textures down to 1024x1024 and also went to 1280x1024 and it runs without a hiccup now in DX10. Not that it ran "bad" at 1600x1200, but I'd push my mouse button and it would take a bit to translate into my gun firing. Now it's spot on with the timing.
