Default With 100.14.09 Cedega shows a black screen

I have installed the new Nvidia driver Version of the reference over an Opensuse 10.2 System . Installation run OK.
KDE 3.5.7 start OK.
Cedega starts a game but shows a black screen. It can be listen the sound but without image. Only through Ctrl+Alt F6 I am able to kill the program.
Any Idea?
I have downgraded the Driver to the Version 9755, than work everything OK.

I just installed the drivers to see how cedega handles them. It was a rather strange experience. I don't get a black screen, mine goes upside down! Flipped bottom to top. This is with Oblivion and NFS Carbon in Cedega 6.01. No errors in logs, everything else works normally. The drivers worked flawlesly for me other than having to hang from the ceiling to play games.

Debian Etch amd64 vanilla 2.6.19.2 kernel
7800gs AGP
Compaq 19" CRT

If you disable Framebuffer objects in the cedega configuration for the game, it will no longer be inverted. At least that fixes all the games that are inverted for me. I'm not sure why the behavior is different with the 100.* drivers.

Thanks for the tip tbeckman. Narrows down the problem but that is no good for Oblivion though as it needs fbo.

Cheers.

(x64) after upgrading to latest I had the black screen problem in wine and cedega too. that, and doom3 was segfaulting too. yet neverball worked right. in dmesg I had some NVRM message about API mismatch, as if I had 1.0.9755 userland with 100.14.09 kernel, yet I was absolutely sure that both were right. In the end, it was only 64 bit userland that was updated, while 32-bit (lib32-nvidia-utils under archlinux) was lagging behind at 1.0.9755. rebuilt lib32 package and updated, and shazam, it works.

so, I'll recommend to check that you don't have some 9755 files left over, and take appropriate action.

Hello,
can you please tell me how to de-install the 9755 files so that i can install the 100.14.09 properly?
By the way:
1.- The Cedega Version I am using: 5.2.3
2.- I installed the Nvidia Driver using the HOWTO from SuSE I mean in a system started with init 3 and using the shell command: sh NVIDIA-Linux-xxx -q and follow the instructions.
3.- Do I need to consider additional adjustment after the installation of the 100.14.09 driver?

Best regards,
J.-L.

Default With 100.14.09 Cedega shows a black screen

It is solved.
I have followed up excatly the instructions of the HOWTO Nvidia installer for SUSE and voilá it works.
Steps:
1.- Start the system with init 3
2.- change to root with the command su
3.- run sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.09-pkg1.run -q
4.- Follow up the instructions
5.- re-start the system and that was.

Anyhow regards,
J.L.

I found that if you turn off in game AA, it will revert back to normal.. As I've noticed that it inverts the game(s) only when AA is enabled in game, with the 100 drivers.

I was thinking of trying that but went back to 9755 instead as I didn't want AA turned off anyway. Good to know, though I'll stick with the old drivers until AA works with the new ones. The new ones are pretty obviously broken.
