Tried this, and the problem is still there.. The EDID saved from 9755 was rejected by the 100.14.09 driver:

Can you attach the binary EDID that you're attempting to use?

Also, if you try to use that same binary EDID with 1.0-9755, does it work, or fail in the same fashion?

edid.bin file enclosed (bzip2 format).

No error shown, and works OK, with 9755 (log attached).

Default Re: 100.14.09 - NVIDIA(GPU-0): Unable to read EDID for display device DFP-0

We've reproduced the issue where the binary EDID generated under 1.0-9755 does not work with 100.14.09, and opened bug 324972.

Unfortunately, we do not have the Viewsonic DFP here, so I'm not able to reproduce the original problem reported. Its possible that the original problem will be resolved once bug 324972 is resolved.

thanks,
Lonni

Do you know why the binary EDID generated under 9775 fails to load with the same driver?

(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Cannot stat CustomEDID file '/tmp/edid.bin' for display device
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): CRT-1 (file is too large)

The size of the generated file is exactly 32k.

The bug was opened to answer that question.

Thanks for your help. I shall be happy to test the fix, when one is available.

It seems that edid.bin file is filled up with zeros up to 32k in my case.
After truncating all zero bytes edid.bin file has a size of 256 bytes and loads succesfully with 9775. But with 100.14.09 loading failes with:

(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): The EDID read for display device CRT-1 is invalid: EDID
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): version 1 size exceeds EDID buffer size, or checksum for
(WW) NVIDIA(GPU-0): EDID failed.

The workaround in my case is to set HorizSync and VertRefresh options. Now it picks up the right mode.
