I have an ASUS M2NPV-VM mb with an onboard GeForce 6 GPU, BIOS rev 0901. The CPU is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+, 2 GB RAM. I just installed Debian 2.6.18-4-amd 64 Etch. At the moment I'm using a ViewSonic VG 150 monitor, but plan on swapping in an SGI 1600 SW in a few days. I had some trouble getting the mb to recognize the SGI when I built the machine that I hope ASUS has resolved by now. The final target for the machine is to run an amateur astronomy observatory.
On Debian installation the GUI wouldn't load, so I set the init to boot into text. After some struggles I got NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.09 to compile, including the GLX module, and now everything looks hunky-dory. I hope I've covered all the questions about the environment.
Now, my question. I'd like to (stress) test and benchmark GLX on my machine. I don't have Doom or Quake. I made a half-hearted effort to compile glxgears from an older glxgears.c I found the 'net, but it was shot full of errors and warnings. Since the consensus seems to be glxgears isn't really much of a test anyway, what's my best bet?
Thanks for any help,
