Actually there was some way to drive all cars on any tracks. Somebody on the official mods forums described how you could do that.

for those that didn't buy the game because of starforce, there is a new patch 1.22 that removes starforce from the game.

install the game
DON'T RUN it after install
install 1.2 patch
install 1.22 patch
then play, and you have no starforce

I have a file that removes post processing such as blur and stuff. Makes it very clean looking.

Thanks for the info!

I need to reinstall the game. I mean, hell, I bought an XBox 360 controller just so I could play it!

So i tried the demo and really like the game, same engine as GRID, looks great. In GRID however, by chaning input device_type from auto to pad in the xml setting file drastically imprvoed the control of the vehciles which stopped being hyper sensitive and impossible to control. In DIRT there is no such setting in the xml file, and the controls are horrible at the moment. I go right a tiny bit and the car flies to the right. Is there a way to fix the control like in GRID?

I'm ressurecting an oldie here I know, but I reinstalled DIRT a couple of days ago and the game is working friggin awesome on my somewhat modest rig.I NEVER drop lower than 50fps now....EVEN IN THE BUGGY RACES.The last time I tried the game I had an x2-4600 I believe and it didnt have the horsepower to overcome the sound bugs, the system I have now seems to power past the obvious sound bugs and makes the game totally playable.I am running it at 1600x1200 4xaa everything maxxed(ultra or high),single cars races are off the hook 100+fps easy and the corrs truck and buggy races dont drop below 50fps even when all trucks are on the screen screaming around banging into each other, any of you who had a dissappointing ride the first time around should give it another whirl on newer hardware, well worth the effort IMO.

MAn I am still playing this game every other day or so. I dont know what there is about it that keeps me going. I have beat it 3 times and am playing it again.

If you want this game to look its best use nhancer and turn one of the combined supersampling modes. You power for this but if you have it the game looks incredible and there is no shimmer anywhere. I run 8xs and it looks awesome despite its age. Never drops below 60fps for me with all settings maxed.

I'm tempted to play through this again before DIRT 2 comes out.
