I have a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 and handling was a nightmare in this game. Just got an Xbox 360 gamepad and its superb. I'm pulling stuff i could no way pull on my logitech.

I REALLY love DiRT.... but wouldn't ya know tonight, after all my bagging about the game, it decides its time to puke up on me
First out of nowhere I get that sound bug...then after I reboot and get sound back...the game black screens just as Im about to win one of those long technical Japanese road coarses....I'm pissed enough to go back to XP

I'm way out of the loop, but does DIRT support DX10? And if does, what are the graphical differences?

I switched back to XP Pro....because I felt like I really don't need Vista untill around the time of Bioshock and the OS was causing me some trouble in the games I'm playing now....especially DiRT but damn!!! I was not expecting such a stark difference.....First I can't believe what a slug DiRT was under Vista, its got to be running ~40% faster under XP. No slow downs at all no matter how many cars are on the track.(158.22{XP} max settings 1680x1050, 4xAA) Second, the sound is crazy...I switched from OpenAL, DSP-low(Vista) to D3D, DSP-high(XP) ...the surround effect is nuts and is so clean (plus it works, with no drops )
Seems stable too

try to turn your firewall off and test again.
you should be around 30FPS as minimum in the last picture.

YES! I noticed the exact same problem. Played DIRT at my friends house on his PC 360 controller and the cars actually handled great without the crappy fishtail seasawing that happens.

On my computer with the Rumblepad2, the game is total crap and cars are near uncontrollable making the game zero fun at all.

Simply crazy how crappy this game is programmed for anything other than 360 stuff.
