The panning behavior of the smaller screen in TwinView mode is broken in 9746 as compared to 8774. The behavior in 8774 is to only pan the smaller screen when the cursor is on the smaller screen. 9746 pans the smaller screen regardless of the location of the cursor.
This drives me crazy! Please either make this behavior configurable or return it to the behavior or 8774. This is the MetaModes value I am using: "CRT: 1600x1200, DFP: 1680x1050 @1680x1200" |

There were several driver releases between 1.0-8774 & 1.0-9746. Which is the last driver where this behavior was as expected?

According to the thread listed below, 8776 was the last working one. I haven't tried it myself, but reverted to 8774 as that was the version I had running previously.

So, what you are really asking me to do is to reinstall 9746 and run nvidia-bug-report.sh as in step 3a?

Ok, here is the output. Note that the X server functions nomally, just the panning isn't restricted to the screen over which the cursor is present.

Thanks. I've reproduced this problem, and opened bug 279304.

Development has reviewed this bug and commented that the 'new' behavior is intentional, as the old behavior was error prone in the case of moving the mouse quickly. The old behavior will not be restored.

Please, please, make it user selectable which behavior is desired. The new behavior is useless! As it stands, this decision means the only solution I have is to disable panning altogether.

At this point, no one other than you has expressed a dislike of the new behavior.
