I am SOOOOOOO ****ing annoyed.

Im going to kill someone. :@

This ****ing vista.

I installed acouple of weeks ago and it was fine.

However now it is extremely unresponsive.

It has got massive pauses of up to a minutes in length. Clicking on an icon leads to a 30 second delay. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me before I kill someone.

Have you defragmented? How much free space do you have on your computer? What programs do you use everyday?

WTF 55 processes. ehh I got like 30 or under.
Man you should take a look at what crap you install and know how to disable all backrground s.hi.t

And defrag now and then and clean the registry.

You using readyboost?

Mine has a light on it and I sometimes watch it bring my PC to a crawl while it moves 1gig of data from my hard disc to the usb drive.

Also, have you looked in the resource monitor at hard disc activity, etc to see what processes are doing what?

Dude, have you tried with stock clocks? What is your CPU temp?
Any HD errors in the windows system event log?

Normally not a problem, look at the cache size, Vista will allocate pages from the cache first when memory is needed for applications.

Kill all your startup apps, then re-enable one by one until it starts. Zone alarm did that to me with it's spyware scans.

I have. It had that many processes when I had it.

I have stopped all start up stuff.

I am not using readyboost.

I nearly smashed my 2407wfp 2 mins ago while loading up the mozilla.

Its just soooooooo slow.

I just want to go back to xp However the HDD its on when it boots up it gives a BSOD at windows startup. I dont want to format that cos it has 280gbs of information... and I cant seem to fix it.

Games dont seem to be running to badly. When my rig is at stock oblivion is giving 60fps+ in the great forest with everything (except aa) at max (inc HDR) @ 1920x1200.
