well, he just isn't a computer person.

people tell him, becareful there is a lot of viruses here and there. he just took the protection aspect a bit to seriously.

i have a better story.

his main drive was 40GB, he got that filled up. So i helped him install a new 320gb secondary drive. told him that to free up space install all games on drive D.

Showed him the browse in installer, so 2 weeks later he calls me: "I installed gameA it worked, but then I installed gameB and gameA doesn't work any more."

I remote desktop to his PC, and guess WHAT!

He installed about 20 games in ROOT of Drive D!!, So the latest game he installed just overwrote files from games that were installed before. IT was a HUGE MESS!

mate thats what ive been trying to say. when I got to index options its all greyed out and says that it is not running.

However error messages saying its stopped running keeps coming up

how did you stop it then? did you turn off the service ? If the service is off the that message should not come up.

Set the service to disabled.

ok i ran memtest and now im very confused lol


it started fine blah blah blah so i left it overnight. came back in the morning pleasantly surprised.

Had a look in the options and now is running

"address test- own test"

Currently @ 700,000 errors and rising.


Did i select a wrong test? Does this mean anything?
